About Me

I am a licensed professional counselor, providing treatment for individuals, couples and families. I have been married for over 45 years and am both a mother and grandmother. With over 20 years of clinical experience, I am able to offer my clients support and guidance without judgment. Prior to entering private practice, I worked for several years at 180, Turning Lives Around, an agency that helped victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  Today I work with a broad spectrum of clients.   Among my areas of expertise are trauma, mood and personality disorders, and relationship issues. I am a cognitive behavioral therapist who is also trained in EMDR  and play therapy as a means of dealing with trauma and abuse. I am a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist. My treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. I incorporate a blend of conventional and alternative approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. With sensitivity and compassion, I work with each client to help them build on their strengths to identify and achieve life goals. Over the past two years, when therapy  was limited to virtual sessions due to Covid, I saw the convenience and flexibility that this provided for many of my clients. There was no longer a commute and everyone could relax in their leggings or gym shorts.. Virtual therapy has created a deepened sense of intimacy with many of these individuals.  In April of 2022, I made the decision to close up my office and limit my practice to virtual therapy. There are trade-offs - I miss hugs terribly-  but I can have a session with a mom in her car in her only free hour between running errands or with the client who wants to talk between business calls during their lunch break.  Virtual therapy allows individuals to create a safe and comfortable therapy space that's on their own terms.
